Estate Planning for Real Life Situations
Many families do not think about estate planning until something happens. A parent is hospitalized. A loved one enters rehabilitation. An elderly relative can no longer travel. A family realizes there is no Power of Attorney or Health Care Proxy in place.
When important documents are missing, families can be left without clear legal authority to help with banking, bills, medical decisions, housing issues, or long-term care planning.
Concierge estate planning is designed for families who want the documents done correctly without forcing the client to travel to a law office.
What Is Concierge Estate Planning?
Concierge estate planning is a white-glove legal service where the attorney guides the client through the planning process and then travels to the client for execution of the documents.
Instead of asking an elderly client, hospitalized client, or busy professional to come to the office, our office brings the estate planning process to the client.
Documents We Prepare
- Last Will and Testament
- Revocable Trusts
- Supplemental Needs Trusts, where appropriate
- Durable Power of Attorney
- Health Care Proxy
- Living Will / Advance Directive
- HIPAA Authorization
- Related estate planning documents
Attorney House Calls for Wills
A Last Will and Testament allows a person to decide who should receive property after death and who should serve as executor of the estate.
When a Will is signed at home, in a hospital, or in a facility, proper execution matters. Witnesses, capacity, voluntariness, and signing formalities should be handled carefully to reduce the risk of future disputes in Surrogate’s Court.
Attorney House Calls for Trusts
Trusts may be useful for privacy, probate avoidance, disability planning, family planning, or real estate planning. Trusts are more detailed than basic documents and should be prepared around the client’s goals, family structure, and assets.
With concierge trust planning, much of the intake and review process can be handled by phone or video, followed by an in-person signing appointment when the documents are ready.
Attorney House Calls for Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies
A Power of Attorney allows a trusted agent to assist with financial and legal matters during life. A Health Care Proxy allows a trusted person to make medical decisions if the client cannot make or communicate those decisions personally.
These documents are often critical when a parent or loved one becomes ill, hospitalized, or unable to manage affairs independently.
We Have Seen What Happens When Families Wait Too Long
Attorney Gregory M. Lendino regularly handles guardianship and elder law matters involving families who need court intervention because proper planning was not completed in time.
When a person loses capacity without a valid Power of Attorney or Health Care Proxy, loved ones may need to petition the court for guardianship authority. A properly prepared estate plan may help avoid unnecessary guardianship proceedings, delay, expense, and stress.
How the Concierge Process Works
Step 1: Phone or Video Consultation
We begin with a phone or video meeting to discuss the client’s family, assets, wishes, concerns, and goals. When appropriate, we complete the estate planning intake together.
Step 2: Document Preparation
The estate planning documents are prepared based on the client’s needs. This may include a Will, Trust, Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxy, Living Will, HIPAA Authorization, or related documents.
Step 3: Review and Revisions
We review the documents with the client and make appropriate revisions before the signing appointment.
Step 4: Attorney House Call and Execution
Once the documents are ready, attorney Gregory M. Lendino travels to the client to supervise execution. Witnesses can be arranged when needed.

Hospital, Rehabilitation Center, Nursing Home and Assisted Living Visits
Sometimes timing matters. If a loved one is in a hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home, or assisted living facility, legal documents may need to be completed quickly.
Depending on the circumstances and attorney availability, our office may be able to arrange an appointment at the client’s facility.
The client must have the legal capacity to understand and sign the documents. If capacity is uncertain, that issue must be addressed carefully.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a lawyer come to my house to prepare a Will in New York?
Yes. An attorney may meet with a client at home to prepare, review, and supervise the signing of a Will, provided the legal requirements are satisfied.
Can a Power of Attorney be signed in a hospital?
In many cases, yes. The client must have legal capacity and the Power of Attorney must be properly executed.
Can a lawyer visit a nursing home or rehabilitation center?
Yes, when appropriate. Our office may visit clients in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, and hospitals.
Do you provide witnesses?
Witnesses can be arranged when needed, including for Will signings.
Can this help avoid guardianship?
Proper documents, especially a Power of Attorney and Health Care Proxy, may reduce the need for a future guardianship proceeding if the client later becomes unable to act independently.
Do you serve areas outside Brooklyn?
Yes. We serve clients throughout New York City, Nassau County, and Suffolk County. Matters outside those areas may require an additional travel fee.
Is this only for seniors?
No. Concierge estate planning is also useful for busy professionals, clients with disabilities, parents, and anyone who wants a private and convenient estate planning process.
